Garena has announced an important change coming with the OB54 update.
Starting June 24, Voice Chat will no longer be available inside Craftland Creation Workshop maps.
If you regularly play custom maps or create your own Craftland experiences, this update could affect how you communicate with other players.
What’s Changing?
After the update goes live, Voice Chat will be disabled in:
- Craftland maps
- Newly published custom maps
- Free Fire Studio projects
- Creation Workshop experiences
This change only applies to Craftland-related content.
Don’t Worry – Text Chat Is Staying
The good news is that Text Chat isn’t going anywhere.
Players will still be able to:
- Send messages in chat
- Talk with teammates through text
- Communicate with map creators
So while Voice Chat is being removed, communication inside Craftland won’t completely disappear.
Will This Affect Battle Royale or Clash Squad?
No.
That’s the part many players were worried about.

Voice Chat in normal Free Fire matches will continue to work exactly the same.
That means:
✅ Battle Royale Voice Chat stays
✅ Clash Squad Voice Chat stays
✅ Squad communication remains unchanged
So if you mainly play ranked matches, you probably won’t notice any difference.
Why Is Garena Doing This?
Garena says the goal is to make the Creation Workshop safer and more focused on creativity.
By removing Voice Chat from custom maps, the company hopes to reduce unwanted behavior and create a better environment for both creators and players.
Free Fire Keeda Take
For most players, this update won’t change everyday gameplay.
But if you’re active in Craftland, you’ll need to rely more on Text Chat after June 24.
It’s not a massive gameplay update, but it’s definitely one of the most important quality-of-life changes coming with OB54.
🔥 Free Fire Keeda Tip: If you’re a map creator, start adding clear instructions inside your map description so players can easily understand objectives without Voice Chat.
