A major controversy has shaken the Free Fire esports community after tournament officials announced a penalty against EVOS Divine during the FFWS SEA 2026 Spring event.
According to the official announcement shared by FF Esports Indonesia, the incident reportedly happened during Game 1 on Purgatory in the knockout stage. Tournament administrators stated that EVOS Divine used a game bug involving Gloo Wall placement through walls without direct line of sight.
The exploit allegedly helped the team revive a player in a situation that normally would not have been possible during competitive gameplay.
After reviewing the match and checking tournament rules, officials declared the action a violation of competitive integrity and fair-play regulations. As a result, EVOS Divine received a punishment of 25% deduction from the team’s total prize winnings.
The organizers also used the opportunity to remind all teams and players that exploiting bugs or using unintended game mechanics during official tournaments is strictly prohibited.
This decision has created massive debate inside the Free Fire esports community. While some fans believe the punishment was necessary to maintain fair competition, others feel the penalty was too harsh considering bug-related situations can sometimes happen unintentionally during intense matches.
EVOS Divine is one of the most respected Free Fire teams in Southeast Asia, so the news quickly spread across social media platforms. Many players are now discussing whether tournament rules regarding in-game bugs should become even stricter in future events.
Despite the controversy, FFWS SEA 2026 Spring continues to deliver intense matches and high-level competition, with fans eagerly waiting to see how the remaining teams perform in the tournament.
At the moment, EVOS Divine has not publicly shared a detailed response regarding the punishment.
